India Buddhism Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1: Delhi Arrival

    Upon landing at Delhi airport, you will receive a traditional welcome by our representative and transfer to your private ac car. Here you be transferred straight to the pre-booked hotel in Delhi. Stay overnight at hotel.

  • Day 2: Delhi -Lucknow- Sravasti

    Wake up early to get you train from Delhi railway station bound to Lucknow the capital city of the largest state of India Uttar Pradesh. This city holds a rich legacy of Nawabs and its royal life style. Here you will be received by our chauffer and transfer to you private Ac car and your drive begin straight to Sravasti. This sacred town Sravasti is the place where Lord buddha spend most of his days after the enlightenment. This place is famous for Jetvana monastery, Sahet and Mahet archeoligical sites, stupas and Jain temples. Overnight stay at hotel.

  • Day 3: Sravasti- Lumbini

    After the early breakfast you will be leaving straight to Lumbini situated in the neighbour country Nepal and tourists need to take E visa for Nepal for cross border entry. Lumbini is a small village considered as a place where Siddharth Gautam Lord Buddha was born. This place is known as the mecca of Buddhism religion. Here you will visit the historical places like maya devi temple, Ashokan pillar, Thai monastery, Birth places of Lord Buddha and beautiful monasteries. Overnight stay at Lumbini.

  • Day 4: Lumbini-Kushinagar

    After breakfast you will be leaving straight to Kushinagar which is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh around 180 kms from Lumbini. Kushinagar is the place where lord Buddha attend Parinirvana. Upon reaching Kuhsinagar you will be checked in to hotel for overnight stay.

  • Day 5: Kushinagar-Vaishali-Patna

    After breakfast explore the mahaparinirvana temple, Nirvana Chaitanya, Buddhist Museum, Myanmar stupa & temple, Thai monastery, Ramabhar stupa and Japanese & Srilankan temple. After the visit continue your drive to Vaishali where you can witness the Ashokan pillar. Continue you drive and reach to Patna comes in the state of Bihar. Stay overnight at Patna hotel.

  • Day 6: Same day trip to Rajgir & Nalanda

    After breakfast you will be leaving to visit the Rajgir earlier which is the capital of magadh empire. This city is also famous for the seven hot spring of saptrishi. Explore the historical sites Ajatsatru’s Fort, cyclopean wall & Swarna bhandar. Afterwards you will move to the adjacent city Nalanda which is world famous for its ancient Nalanda university. Here you can explore ruins of Nalanda university, Vishwa shanti stupa, Archaeological Museum. After the sightseeing come back to hotel at patna for overnight stay.

  • Day 7: Patna- Gaya- Bodhgaya

    After healthy breakfast you will leave straight to Bodhgaya one of the important places of Buddhism. Here visit the Mahabodhi temple, sacred bodhi tree, great Buddha statue, Royal Bhutanese monastery. Banabar caves. Later drive to Gaya which is the sacred place for Pind Daan for ancestors according to mythology. Night stay at Gaya/ Bodhgaya hotel.

  • Day 8: Bodhgaya- Varanasi

    After breakfast you will be leaving towards the most ancient city of the world called Varanasi located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Varanasi refers to the name of two river “Varuna and Assi” this city is also believed as the city of Lord shiva. Upon reaching checked in to hotel for relax. Before sunset you will proceed to Dashaswamedha Ghat one of the pious bank of river Ganges at where you can attend the evening prayer ceremony of river Ganges. Thousands of oil lamps glittering on the banks of river Ganges in between the chanting of Vedic mantras will mesmerize your body and soul. Afterwards return back to hotel for overnight stay.

  • Day 9: Varansi- Delhi by Train

    This 6000 years old city never sleep and you also need to wake up early to attend the sunrise rituals at sacred banks of river Ganges where thousands of people took holy bath and perform different rituals. Enjoy the boat ride tour at river Ganges and visit 84 ghats including Assi ghat, manikarnika ghat, Harishchandra ghat.

    Now the time comes to visit the jyotirlinga temple Kashi Vishwanath one of the main temple of Lord shiva. Afterwards you will proceed to explore the Sarnath temple where Gautam Buddha preached his first sermon to his disciples. Later we will transfer straight to Varanasi railway station at where you can catch the overnight train bound to Delhi. Experience the overnight train journey in India.

  • Day 10: Delhi Departure

    Upon reaching at Delhi railway station, you will be picked up and transfer to the hotel for relax and refreshment. Later you will depart on the same day to Delhi airport to catch your return flight for onwards journey.
